Demand for Women Commission Chairperson in Bengal, Mamata's effigy burnt – News India Live

Kolkata: The controversy over atrocities on women is gaining momentum in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal. Earlier, BJP and Congress leaders had tried to visit this area. However, he was stopped midway. In such a situation, statements of the victimized women were taken by the Central Women's Commission. The Chairperson of the Women's Commission also demanded the resignation of Mamata Banerjee along with President's rule.

In this matter, BJP has started protesting against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party TMC. Some Hindu organizations are also protesting. Hindu Jagran Manch protested near Sakchi roundabout on Sunday and burnt the effigy of Mamata Banerjee. Some other women protested with placards on the issue of Sandeshkhali. It is being claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can meet the women of Sandeshkhali on March 7. In Sandeshkhali, TMC leader Shajahan Shaikh is accused of misbehaving with Hindu women and also grabbing their land with the help of his goons. Earlier, when the ED team had gone to arrest him in a money laundering case, Sheikh and his supporters had pelted stones at them. Now serious allegations are being made against him regarding local women. Surprisingly, despite the complaint of local women, Sheikh has not been arrested yet. There are reports that he is absconding after the attack on the ED team. Meanwhile, the ruling TMC has claimed that the Women's Commission is repeating the script written by the BJP. All the accused have been arrested.
