According to this report, 64.64 crore voters have created a world record by voting in the 2024 elections, whereas 11,692 nomination papers were filed in the 2019 elections. 8,360 candidates stood in 2024 while 8,054 candidates contested in 2019.

The Election Commission said that the participation of women voters in the elections is continuously increasing. According to the report, the number of women voters in the Lok Sabha elections was more than that of men. This is a very encouraging result. The Commission said that 65.78% women voters voted in the Lok Sabha elections and the percentage of results was 65.55%. The number of women candidates in 2024 also increased from 726 to 800.

46.4% increase in the number of third gender voters

The Commission said that the number of third gender voters increased by 46.4% in 2024 compared to 2019. In 2024, 90,28,696 disabled voters were registered. According to the Commission, re-polling had to be conducted at 540 polling stations in 2019, which has reduced to only 40 in 2024.
