The 25th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economy, Scientific and Technological Affairs between India and Russia was held in New Delhi. In this meeting, the Indian delegation was led by Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, while the Russian delegation was led by Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
In this meeting, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that by 2030, trade between India and Russia will increase to 100 billion dollars. He said there are some challenges in trade between the two countries, especially in terms of payments and supplies. A lot of work has been done in this regard but still some work remains to be done. Our joint efforts should be taken forward in terms of connectivity such as the North-South Transport Corridor, Chennai-Vladivostok Corridor and the Northern Sea Route. Food and health security issues were also discussed in this meeting.
