Vinesh Phogat News: Indian female wrestler Vinesh Phogat has made a shocking claim on the social media platform X. She has posted a post regarding the case related to former Wrestling Association President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. In this, she has said that, 'Delhi Police has removed the security of female wrestlers who testified against Brij Bhushan in the court.' In this post, she also tagged Delhi Police, Delhi Women's Commission and National Women's Commission.

Delhi Police responded

Delhi Police has responded to Vinesh Phogat's post. According to the DCP of New Delhi, 'PSOs were called for firing practice. This is a normal activity in police practice. After taking training, the PSOs returned to their duty. The wrestlers were already informed about this. There is no order to withdraw security. If this has happened then an investigation will be done.'

A case was filed against Brij Bhushan

It is worth noting that in May this year, Brij Bhushan got a big setback in this case. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court ordered to frame charges against Brij Bhushan. After this, a case has been registered against him under sections 354, 506 and other sections. Delhi Police is investigating the case of sexual harassment charges against him. In this case, a charge sheet was also filed against Brij Bhushan in June 2023.

What was the matter?

In January 2023, when many young women wrestlers including Vinesh, Sakshi and Bajrang Punia were competing against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Many women wrestlers including Vinesh-Sakshi accused Brij Bhushan of harassment, sexual exploitation and arbitrariness and demanded his removal from the post of President of Wrestling Federation of India. Meanwhile, the protests continued and there were frequent clashes with the police. At present the case is going on in the court, statements have been recorded.
