New Delhi: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk was about to enter Delhi to complete the 700 km Delhi Chalo Padyatra when Delhi Police arrested her. Along with Wangchuk, 130 other people were also arrested by the police and stopped from entering Delhi. All these people had reached Delhi from Ladakh.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the central government and Narendra Modi regarding this arrest. He tweeted that the arrest of Sonam Wangchukji, who was peacefully marching for environmental and constitutional rights along with many Ladakhis, is unacceptable. Why were the elders who raised their voice for the future of Ladakh arrested on the Delhi border? Modi ji, like the farmers, this cycle will also be broken and your ego will also be broken. You have to listen to the voice of Ladakh.
Sonam Wangchuk was marching towards Delhi with 130 people, during which she and all the other Ladakhi marchers were arrested at the Singhu border of Delhi. All these people reached Delhi after walking 700 kilometers. All the arrested people have been taken to different police stations.
