Coaching center was running without fire safety certificate: CBI

During the last hearing, the CBI had argued that the custody of the accused was necessary in connection with the investigation. The investigating agency said that the basement of the building was used as a library-cum-examination hall, where students sat for self-study and preparation for exams. The occupancy certificate of the building clearly states that the basement can only be used for parking, storage and car lift. But it is being used for commercial purpose.

The investigating agency claimed that the coaching centre was running without a fire safety certificate. In this regard, a show cause notice was also sent to the coaching centre by the MCD. After this, the CEO of the coaching centre applied for the certificate, which he received on 9 July.
