The Delhi High Court has accepted the CBI's plea challenging the acquittal of former telecom minister A Raja, companies and others in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case.

Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma said that based on the material brought on record and the arguments of the counsel for the parties, a prima facie case has been made out by the CBI. This requires a thorough investigation and a comprehensive hearing on the appeal.

The bench also accepted the appeal and directed to list the matter for hearing in May.

The CBI had filed an appeal in 2018 to consider the lower court's decision on its merits. The judge had reserved his decision in this case on March 14.

It is noteworthy that on March 19, 2018, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) approached the High Court and challenged the December 2017 decision of the special court acquitting all the accused.

Apart from Raja and Kanimozhi, the special court has also booked Unitech Ltd MD Sanjay Chandra and three Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (RDAG) executives Gautam Doshi, Raja's former personal secretary RK Chandolia, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura.
