The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team on Monday presented Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Rouse Avenue Court in the alleged money laundering case related to Delhi Excise Policy. Meanwhile, the court has sent Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody till April 15. Earlier on March 28, the court had extended the ED remand of Arvind Kejriwal till April 1. In this way, the ED remand of CM Kejriwal is ending today.
Kejriwal's lawyer demanded to provide some essential medicines and three books in the jail. The names of the three books sought are – Ramayana, Mahabharata and How Prime Minister Decides (written by journalist Neerja Chaudhary). In view of the illness, Arvind Kejriwal has also demanded special food inside the jail.
Let us tell you that on March 21, ED had arrested the Chief Minister of Delhi in an alleged money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise case. ED reached his residence with the 10th summons in the excise case, where they interrogated Arvind Kejriwal for two hours. During this time, ED had also seized some electronic devices including the mobile phone of CM Arvind Kejriwal.
The next day i.e. on 22 March, ED presented Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court, from where he was sent on 6-day ED remand. ED team is continuously interrogating CM Kejriwal. During the court appearance on March 28, ED's lawyer said that CM Kejriwal is not cooperating in the investigation. She is repeatedly asking Arvind Kejriwal for the mobile password, but he is not ready to tell it.
