Before the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a big setback on Sunday. Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Kailash Gehlot has resigned from the party.

Kailash Gehlot has sent his resignation to the party’s national president Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi CM Atishi. Delhi CM Atishi has accepted Gehlot’s resignation. Along with resigning from his ministerial post, Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot has also resigned from the primary membership of AAP. Gehlot has sent a letter to Kejriwal resigning from his post and party.

In his resignation, he has raised the issue of cleaning Yamuna river and construction of Sheeshmahal. Gehlot has written in the letter that we had promised to clean Yamuna in the last elections, but it was not cleaned. We could not fulfill our promise. In the letter, Gehlot alleged that the honest politics on the basis of which he joined the Aam Aadmi Party is no more. He has made many allegations by calling the official residence of party convenor and former CM Arvind Kejriwal as Sheesh Mahal.

There is no option but to resign

According to a news agency report, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Kailash Gehlot has written a letter to Arvind Kejriwal. “There are many other shameful and strange controversies like Sheesh Mahal, which now raise doubts in everyone’s mind whether we still believe that we are common people,” the letter said. It is now clear that if the Delhi government spends most of its time fighting the Centre, there can be no real progress for Delhi. I have no option left but to separate from you and hence I am resigning from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party.
