The Delhi-Dehradun Green Field Expressway is about to start. People of Delhi and surrounding areas were waiting for this for a long time. This will make it easier to go to Dehradun. But people living in some areas will have to wait. Because the road from Akshardham (where this expressway starts) to Geeta Colony is not fully built yet.

Work on the green field expressway near Akshardham is still underway

According to the National Highways Authority of India, the distance from Delhi to Khekra is 31 km. The green field expressway around Akshardham is still pending. However, the work is being done at a fast pace. Soon the trial will also start from Geeta Colony. According to NHAI, if the construction around Akshardham takes time, then it will be opened for traffic after the construction is completed.

A look at the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway

Delhi Dehradun Expressway is being built at a cost of Rs 12 thousand crore. The 6-lane expressway will start from Akshardham in Delhi and reach Dehradun via Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas, Mandola Baghpat, Khekra, Shamli, EPE interchange at Saharanpur. This expressway is being constructed in four parts. Construction is being done in two parts from Baghpat to Saharanpur and in two parts from Akshardham to EPE Junction (Khekra).

People of this area will have to wait now

People living in Akshardham and surrounding areas of Noida will not get complete relief yet. After the expressway opens, these people will have to reach Geeta Colony after getting stuck in the traffic jam. There will be an elevated road from there, which will make it easy to reach the border. People living in other areas of Delhi will be able to reach the elevated road directly from Geeta Colony Bridge via Ring Road.

The biggest relief to the people of East Delhi

After the completion of the expressway, the people of East Delhi and those going from Delhi to Dehradun, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and Loni will get relief. Because at present all this traffic passes through various borders of East Delhi. But after the expressway opens, the traffic going in this direction will pass through the expressway. In this way, about 1.5 to 2 lakh vehicles will shift every day, this will reduce the pressure of vehicles on the roads of East Delhi and the people here will get relief from traffic jams.
