Hamirpur, 03 December (HS). In the first phase of Maulana Salim Memorial All India Sports Festival held in Maudaha town on Tuesday, the third and semi-final match of the cricket tournament was played between Banaras and Delhi. In which Delhi won the thrilling match by 4 runs and entered the finals.
The first semi-final match of the cricket tournament organized in the first phase of the ongoing Maulana Salim Memorial All India Sports Festival at Rahmania Sports Ground located on Kapsa Road in the town was played between Banaras vs Delhi. In which Banaras won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Delhi team, which came to bat in the same sequence, scored a total of 192 runs after losing nine wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. While chasing the target, the Banaras team kept fighting till the end but fell just 4 runs short of the target and could score only 189 runs.
Similarly, Delhi won the thrilling match by just 4 runs and made it to the finals. Aditya took the maximum of 5 wickets from Delhi side and was honored with the Man of the Match trophy by chief guest Islam Uddin and special guest Advocate Saju Bhai. Thousands of sports lovers remained present in the ground till the end to watch the cricket match. In the match, Sameer Sabhasad and Nahid Sheru played the role of umpire and Abdul Qadir played the role of commentator and Sameer played the role of scorer. During this, all the committee members including Committee Chairman Beetu Badshah, Musharraf Kamal, Naushad Sanjari, Akhtar Master, Bablu Pathan, Fakhruddin alias Yawar, Parvez Siddiqui, Zubair, Shafiullah were present. Today the first quarter-final match of Pool-B will be played between Ghaziabad and Agra.
