A report recently published by Happiest Place to Work states that 70 percent of employees in the Indian workforce are not satisfied with their jobs.

The report revealed that happiness levels varied among people of the same age group. Factors such as work culture, environment and personal circumstances play a key role in influencing employee satisfaction at the workplace. The study found significant gender and geographical disparities in happiness levels. Women in the East and Central regions had higher levels of job satisfaction, while men in the North region were relatively happier with their jobs. Among various industries, the fintech sector was considered the happiest sector, the report was quoted as saying. The report further revealed that 54 per cent of employees are considering quitting their current job. Lack of personal motivation and inadequate support system are believed to be responsible for this trend. However, 60 per cent of employees who have a supportive work environment at the workplace and are encouraged to pursue their personal interests are less likely to quit their current job.

Happy employees are more productive: Commenting on the report, Harsh Goenka of RPG Group said that the report underlines an essential fact. Happy employees are more productive, more engaged and more committed to their organization. The new generation of employees is more inclined to change jobs. 59 per cent are considering it. 63 per cent of employees face difficulty in teamwork due to conflicts, while 62 per cent of employees struggle to express their opinions freely.
