A two-storey house collapsed in Delhi's Karol Bagh area. After which there was chaos there. On receiving the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot. Delhi Fire Service sent five vehicles to the spot to help in the search and rescue operation. The team has started relief and rescue work. So far 8 people have been rescued from the debris. They have been admitted to the hospital.
DCP Central M Harshvardhan said, 'At around 9 am, information was received about the building collapse from Bapa Nagar area of Prasad Nagar police station. An old building of about 25 square yards area has collapsed. He said that many people have been rescued and sent to the hospital. Some more people are feared to be trapped. Local police, NDRF, Delhi Fire Service and other agencies are carrying out rescue operations. No death has been confirmed yet. Legal action will be taken after the rescue operation is over.
Atishi, who is going to take oath as the next Chief Minister of Delhi, said on this incident, 'This incident of house collapse in Karol Bagh area is very sad. I have ordered the District Magistrate to provide all possible help to the people living there and the victims, if someone is injured then get him treated and find out the cause of the accident. The accident has also been discussed with the Mayor of the Corporation. There has been a lot of rain this year, I appeal to all the people of Delhi that if any construction related accident happens then immediately inform the administration and the corporation, the government will help you immediately.
