Dehli News: Eastern states including Bihar, Jharkhand will get relief from heat

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that people in many states of the country may get some respite from the scorching heat. The ongoing heat wave in eastern and southern peninsular India is going to end soon. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the eastern region may get relief from Monday, while the southern states may have to wait for one more day. IMD said there is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds in these areas till May 10.

Rain is expected over East India, Gujarat, Rajasthan and East Madhya Pradesh during the next five days. Rain and storm are likely to continue in the Northeast till tomorrow. Khasi-Jaintia Hills region of Meghalaya has been receiving heavy rains since Sunday. Many houses have been damaged by the rain and more than 400 people have been affected. Heavy rain has occurred at different places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur. According to IMD, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in five states including Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the coming days. Also, heat wave will continue in North India, but there are signs of rain in some parts. IMD estimates that there is a possibility of heavy rains and storms in Bihar for five days from May 6, due to which the temperature may see a drop of four to six degrees. Orange alert has been issued by IMD for Bihar.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of heat wave in East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, North Interior Karnataka on May 7.
