Today, i.e. on August 8, the stock market is witnessing a decline. The Sensex is trading at 79,200 with a decline of more than 200 points. At the same time, the Nifty is trading at the level of 24,220 with a decline of more than 70 points.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 25 are down and 5 are up. Today, IT, banking and metal stocks are seeing further decline. Nifty oil and gas and metal indices are down by around 1%.
Saraswati Saree Depot IPO from August 12
The initial public offering (IPO) of Saraswati Saree Depot Limited will open on August 12. Investors can bid for this IPO till August 14. The company's shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on August 20.
The price band of this issue has been fixed at ₹152-₹160. Retail investors can bid for a minimum of one lot i.e. 90 shares. If you apply for 1 lot at ₹160 at the upper price band of the IPO, you will have to invest ₹14,400.
Indian rupee opened 8 paise stronger today
The Indian rupee strengthened by 8 paise against the US dollar yesterday. The rise in the dollar was responsible for the rise in the IT index but Infosys still opened the trading with a gain of 2.56 percent yesterday.
