Mumbai: Gold and silver prices continued to fall in the Mumbai jewellery market today but the pace of decline was slow. Global market news was indicating a retreat. There was talk that the rise in global gold prices due to the rise in the dollar index and bond yields in the world market has led to selling by funds. Globally, gold prices remained in the range of $ 2,495 to $ 2,496, $ 2,503 to $ 2,504 per ounce and low of $ 2,511 to $ 2,512 per ounce.
However, the prices of precious metals continued to decline in the jewellery market of Ahmedabad today. Gold prices in Ahmedabad were at Rs 73,800 at 99.50 per 10 grams and Rs 74,000 at 99.90, while silver prices in Ahmedabad were at Rs 84,500 per kg. Following gold in the global market, the price of silver also declined from 29.59 to $ 29.60 an ounce, from 29.34 to 29.35 to 29.65 to 29.66 an ounce.
In Mumbai bullion market today, the price of gold without GST was Rs 71,312 at 99.50 and Rs 71,312 at 99.90 and Rs 71,599 at 71,719. Silver prices in Mumbai rose from Rs 84,913 to Rs 84,783 without GST to Rs 84,820. Gold and silver prices with GST in Mumbai were 3% higher than this price.
Meanwhile, the fall in crude oil in the world market also had a negative impact on global gold prices. Brent crude oil prices in the world market were at a low of $ 77.45 per barrel from $ 75.77 to $ 76.33. US crude prices were at a low of $ 71.58 to $ 72.14 from $ 74.04.
New demand from China has been slow. However, US crude oil inventories have fallen by 4.6 million barrels. Job growth in the United States for the 12 months ended March was 818,000 higher than expected and now job growth over this 12-month period has actually fallen by 818,000, the U.S. Labor Department said.
Market experts were saying that due to weakness in the job market in the US, the possibility of further reduction in interest rates has increased. Its effect will be seen on the price of gold and dollar in the future. Meanwhile, platinum prices in the world market fell from 970 to 953 to 957 to 958 dollars per ounce.
