Kathua, 27 September (Hindustan Reporter). NSS unit of GDC Mahanpur organized bhajan singing and slogan writing competition. It was organized as a part of the series of activities organized under the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign from 17 September 2024 to 1 October 2024 and Swachh Bharat Diwas on 2 October 2024.

This program was also a part of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. On this occasion, bhajan singing and debate competition was organized. The program started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries. 25 students participated in the competition. They sang different hymns and celebrated Mahatma Gandhi's legacy of non-violence, truth, social justice, peace and cleanliness. Apart from this, students participated in debate competition on the topics of truth, non-violence and cleanliness.

The entire program was organized by Dr. Rupali Jasrotia NSS Program Officer under the able guidance and patronage of the College Principal, Professor Sangeeta Sudan. NSS volunteers participated with great enthusiasm in the competition. Dr. Mohinder Nath Sharma and Dr. JS Sudan judged the competition. Payal and Monica of 3rd semester were declared winners of the Bhajan Singing and Debate Competition by the judges. Physical Director of the college, Dr. JS Sudan also addressed the students about the principles of Gandhiji. Apart from this, the college principal also addressed the volunteers. In his address he not only congratulated the organizing committee and participants but also highlighted the legacy of truth and non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi.
