Faridabad, June 10 (HS). In the last 7 years, a dozen innocent citizens have died due to coming in contact with high tension power lines in Sector-3 of Ballabhgarh. On Sunday also, a laborer in house number 503 got badly burnt due to coming in contact with high tension line. On Monday, people gheraoed the office of SE of HVPN in Sector-18.
This laborer named Sintu, living in Bhatia Colony Ballabhgarh, is battling between life and death in the Trauma Center of AIIMS. In July 2022 also, four laborers came in the grip of high tension line. In which three died. The citizens of Sector 3, under the leadership of Resident Welfare Federation President Subhash Lamba and Secretary Ratanlal Rana, gheraoed the Sector-18 office of SE of HVPN on Monday and protested fiercely against the government and corporation responsible for these accidents and deaths. The anger of the citizens increased further when they came to know that SE Atul Agarwal was not present in the office. The citizens said that on February 5, the SE had assured to get the line shifted soon. After that the SE stopped picking up the phone of the Federation President and Secretary.
During the demonstration, XEN Deepak Garg arrived on the spot and he handled the situation with great difficulty. Because a large number of women participating in the demonstration were very angry. Because equipment worth several lakhs of rupees in their houses have been burnt to ashes. XEN came among the angry citizens and assured in writing that the work of shifting the high tension line will be started within a week.
Resident Welfare Federation President Subhash Lamba and Secretary Ratanlal Rana held the officials of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam completely responsible for a dozen deaths. After a long struggle by the Federation, HSVP (HUDA) had deposited Rs 42 lakh to HVPN in March 2022 to shift the line. But despite continuous efforts by the citizens under the banner of the Federation, the line was not shifted. Due to which these accidents are happening. Resident Welfare Federation President Lamba said that the accident was so severe that along with it, electrical and electronic equipment worth lakhs of rupees of nearby houses number 501, 502, 504 and 505 also burnt to ashes.
