Quetta railway station blast: According to Pakistani media reports, provincial health department spokesman Wasim Baig said the death toll in the blast rose to 26 after two people died, while 62 others were injured.

Quetta Division Commissioner Hamza Shafqat said the blast was a 'suicide attack' primarily on law enforcement agencies, while civilians were also targeted. Gathering of people has been banned in the area, while the bus station has been put on high alert. Railways have been requested to close stations and suspend train services.
Prime Minister condemned the attack
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the blast and wished speedy recovery of the dead and injured. The Prime Minister has also sought an investigation report into the incident from the Balochistan government. The Prime Minister said that terrorists who cause harm to the lives and property of innocent people will have to pay a heavy price.
Terrorist took responsibility
Acting President Yousuf Raza Gilani also condemned the incident. He said, terrorists are enemies of humanity who target innocent people. Banned terrorist group Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the blast.
The injured are undergoing treatment
The incident comes a week after a bomb blast near a girls' school and hospital in Balochistan's Mastung district, which killed eight people, including five children. Pakistan, especially Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has seen a sharp increase in terrorism-related incidents in the last year.
