A day before International Women's Day, Modi government has taken a big decision in the cabinet meeting in the interest of employees. In the meeting, Modi government has approved 4 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees.
With this step of Modi government, the allowance of central employees has now increased to 50 percent. At present the allowance was being given at 46 percent. The new decision of Modi government will be applicable from January 1, 2024 to June 2024.
This step of the government will benefit more than one crore central employees and pensioners. DA has increased by 4 percent for the third consecutive half. With this step of the government, it is almost certain that there will be an increase in the take-home salary package of the employees as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. This is being considered a big step of the Modi government before the Lok Sabha elections.
