Akhnoor, June 26 (HS). BJP leader and District Development Council member Pandit Suresh Sharma, continuing the campaign of development works, inaugurated the construction work of a new tubewell under Jal Jeevan Mission on Wednesday in Panchayat Nardi of Block Maira Mandreya of Assembly Chhaban.
Under this project, the construction of a tubewell is going on in village Kufi and today the construction of another new tubewell has been started in village Nardi-Sathar. An amount of Rs 5 crore 27 lakh is being spent on this water project. This was a long pending demand of the people. This project includes 3 tanks of 20 thousand gallons, pump room building, new electricity substation, new pipeline, new machinery etc.
Under the project, an amount of one crore 55 lakh rupees is being spent on new water pipelines. Old and overloaded pipes are being replaced. Taps are being installed in houses which do not have taps. The people of villages Lower Nardi, Upper Nardi, Dhanna, Maira, Sathar, Bala etc. of Panchayat Nardi will get the benefit of this new water project. Suresh Sharma said that often during summers there was a huge water crisis in Panchayat Nardi. When the work of this project is completed, people will get relief from the water problem.
Apart from this, Suresh Sharma said that in the coming days, work will be started on new water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission in the remaining panchayats of Block Maira Mandreya. On this occasion, BJP Mandal President Dr. Ramlal Sharma, senior leader Master Sansar Singh, Mandal General Secretary Master Chanchal Singh, Minority Front District President Gurpal Singh, retired lecturer Vikramjit Singh, department engineers and other dignitaries were present.
