Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined for the second consecutive match. He has been accused of slow over rate against Kolkata Knight Riders. Therefore, a fine of Rs 24 lakh has been imposed on Rishabh Pant. Indian Premier League (IPL) gave this information on Thursday. Since this is the second such offense of his team this season, along with this, fine has also been imposed on all the players of the playing eleven including the impact player. The fine will be either Rs 6 lakh or 25% of the match fee, whichever is less.
Before KKR, Delhi Capitals faced Chennai Super Kings on March 31 at the same ground. In that match also, Delhi team could not bowl even its 20 overs in the stipulated time. Even after that match, Pant was fined. This was the first mistake of the Delhi captain, hence only a fine of Rs 12 lakh was imposed. In the match against KKR, Delhi took 2 hours to bowl 20 overs.
After the aggressive batting of Sunil Narine, Kolkata defeated Delhi Capitals by 106 runs on the basis of excellent performance by the bowlers. With Narine's 85 runs in 39 balls and Angkrish Raghuvanshi's 54 runs in 27 balls, KKR was successful in scoring 272 runs for seven wickets. Delhi team was nowhere to be seen in the match with both bat and ball. Captain Rishabh Pant scored his second consecutive half-century while Tristan Stubbs also played an inning of 54 runs but apart from him, no other batsman could survive and the entire team was reduced to 166 runs in 17.2 overs.
