Lucknow, 01 August (HS). Two girls studying in Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School of Uttar Pradesh have got a chance to participate in Japan's Sakura Science High School Program. These girls are from Prayagraj and Pratapgarh districts respectively. The girls going to Japan under the supervision of qualified science teachers will get an opportunity to share experiences of educational innovation with children and experts from other countries.
Let us tell you that the Sakura Science High School Program is being organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency in Japan from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025. In this program, 02 girls from Uttar Pradesh, Kumari Sandhya Saroj (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Bahria, Prayagraj) and Kumari Riya Patel (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Sadwa Chandrika, Pratapgarh) have been selected. They have got a chance to participate in the Sakura Science High School Program to be held between 10 November and 16 November.
They get the opportunity
It should be noted that Sakura Science High School Program is organized for such children who are students of 11th and 12th class in science stream and are toppers of class 10. It is also necessary to have proficiency in speaking English.
Japan will bear the cost
Japan will also take care of the expenses incurred on the girls. All expenses incurred on them will be borne by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Whether it is the expenses incurred on the Japan tour or the expenses incurred on their stay and food; all expenses will be borne by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Not only this, the students participating in the program will also be provided visa for the tour period by the Government of Japan.
Chance to meet Nobel Prize winners
Students participating in the Sakura Science High School program are also introduced to Nobel Prize winners. Their knowledge and experiences are greatly enriched by participating in special topics taught by leading scientists, and by visiting major Japanese universities and research institutes. Moreover, they are also given an opportunity to experience Japanese culture by participating in social activities with Japanese high school students.
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) has implemented the Japan Science High School Program with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences in educational innovation between youth in Japan and other countries. It is also known as the Sakura Science Program. Under the Sakura Science High School Program, outstanding high school students are invited by JST for a week.
