'Daughter died after taking dose of Covishield..' Parents took Serum Institute to court

Covid-19 Vaccine: At present the issue of side effects of Covishield vaccine is under discussion. It is being claimed that the corona vaccine is completely safe and has no side effects. During the Corona period, most Indians were given two vaccines, Covishield and Covaxin. The Covishield vaccine has been developed by the Jenner Institute of Oxford University, Britain, and British-Swedish pharma company AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca has admitted in a UK court that the Covishield vaccine can cause thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS). Meanwhile, news is coming that now a family has taken Serum Institute of India i.e. SII to court regarding the death of their daughter. It is being told that the woman died a few days after taking the first dose of Covishield.

According to a report, when Corona entered in 2021, 18-year-old Ritika Shri Omtri took the first dose of Covishield in May. However, within seven days he developed a high fever and began having difficulty walking. An MRI scan reportedly showed multiple blood clots and hemorrhage in his brain. The woman died within two weeks.

The woman's parents did not know the actual cause of death and filed an RTI in this regard. An RTI filed in December 2021 revealed that the woman was suffering from 'thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome' and died due to a reaction related to the vaccine product.

A similar incident occurred in July 2021. Meanwhile, Karunya, daughter of a man named Venugopal Govindan, died a month after taking the vaccine. According to a report, the National Committee found that there was not enough evidence that the woman died due to the vaccine.

Importantly, Covishield has been jointly developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University. It was developed in India by the Serum Institute of India and given to the people of the country on a large scale. Oxford-AstraZeneca's corona vaccine was sold under the names 'Covishield' and 'Vaxjaveria' in many countries of the world.
