Constable recruitment process is going on in Bihar Police, and meanwhile an important update has been released for EWS and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) category candidates. The Home Department of Bihar Government and the Central Selection Board have issued an important notice and extended the last date for submission of certificates. Earlier this date was scheduled for July 20, 2023, which has now been extended.
New date for submission of NCL and EWS certificate
- The candidates had demanded extension of the date for submission of NCL and EWS certificates.
- The Central Selection Board requested the State Government and the General Administration Department on this.
- Now consent has been given to accept the certificates issued after July 20, 2023, which has brought great relief to the candidates.
Bihar constable recruitment: 70,000 posts will be appointed
Keeping the Bihar Assembly elections in mind, the constable recruitment process has been expedited.

Increase in income limit for EWS category in Delhi
There has been an important change for the students of Delhi also.
- Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena decided to increase the annual income limit of students under Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
- New Income Limit:
- Before: ₹2.5 lakh
- Now: ₹5 lakh
Delhi Government’s proposal and High Court’s order
- Delhi High Court on 5 December 2023 directed to increase the income limit from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh.
- However, the Delhi government in October had proposed increasing it to only ₹2.5 lakh.
- The Lieutenant Governor issued a notification deciding to increase it to ₹5 lakh.
