Dalljiet Kaur talks openly about divorce with Shalin Bhanot, raising son becomes priority

TV actress Daljeet Kaur is more in the news for her personal life than her professional life. Last year, she made headlines after ending her second marriage with Kenya-based Nikhil Patel. Now Daljeet has spoken openly about her divorce from her first husband Shalin Bhanot.

What did Daljeet say on the breakdown of her marriage with Shalin Bhanot?

Daljeet shared his feelings about his marriage and divorce on screen’s Dear Me show. He told that his relationship with Shalin started during ‘Kul Vadhu’ and ‘Nach Baliye’.
“We got married within a few months of winning Nach Baliye. I wish I had tried to know him better before marriage. If that had been the case, perhaps all this would not have happened.” Daljeet said.

Daljeet admitted that the breakup of his first marriage had a deep emotional impact on him.
“I refused for 2-3 years to accept that my marriage was over. The word ‘divorce’ was very difficult for me. I would break down and cry. At that time my son Jayden was very young. This period was very difficult for me.”

Doesn’t Shalin even know the age of her son?

After the divorce, Shalin Bhanot remained only sporadically involved in the life of his son Jayden. However, Daljeet never stopped father and son from meeting.
“If you ask Shalin today how old Jayden is, she probably wouldn’t even know.” Daljeet said.

Decision on second marriage for the welfare of the son

Regarding Jayden’s upbringing, Daljeet said that he felt the absence of a father in his son’s life.
“He was very excited about the second marriage because he wanted his father’s affection. It was heart-breaking to see him yearning for his father, especially on occasions like Father’s Day. I felt like I was failing him,” Daljeet said.

However, her second marriage with Nikhil Patel also did not last long.

Jayden’s upbringing is Daljeet’s priority

Now Daljeet is paying full attention to giving a new start to her life and raising her son Jayden.
“No child deserves to go through this pain. Protecting Jayden at all costs is my top priority, and I will continue to do so.” Daljeet said.
