The reason behind the suicide of a Dalit man in Salempur VV village is being said to be his beating and insult by the police. The wife of the deceased has accused two policemen of assaulting her husband for sitting on a chair in Ramlila courtyard. The wife of the deceased has filed a complaint at Soro police station for action against the police personnel.
The deceased had gone to watch Ramlila at 9 pm. There were chairs lying there and he sat on the chair, then head constable Bahadur Singh and a constable Vikram Singh came and dragged him away. Beaten and abused. This made him very sad. After this, he came home and told the whole story crying and then hanged himself.
Kasganj ASP said that Ramlila was organized yesterday. Ramlila was going on on the stage, meanwhile Ramesh Chand of the village, who was a little drunk at that time, sat on the stage. On which the organizers and spectators asked to remove it. Later the police personnel removed them from there and they went home at night.
Today information was received that Ramesh Chand was found hanging with a rope in his house. He committed suicide. As soon as the information was received, the SHO, CO City etc. reached the spot. Now after talking to the family members, the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway.
