Rajkot: The team of Rajkot Crime Branch has arrested a businessman from Dakor who used to rob the passengers traveling by bus in Saurashtra and entire Gujarat by feeding them biscuits and making them unconscious. With this, the police has succeeded in solving 9 theft cases in Rajkot, Upleta, Bhuj and Surat.
Actually, the Crime Branch team had received information that Isam, who committed theft by rendering the passengers unconscious in the bus, was sitting in a Surat-bound journey, which was about to pass near Greenland Crossing. Based on this information, the Crime Branch team caught Mahendra Singh Chudasama (45) from the bus.
Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that Mahendra Singh is originally from Kolarpur in Barwala and currently lives in Bansi Apartment in Dakor and has a clothes shop here. With this the police have solved 9 cases of theft. In the complaint lodged in B Division police station on the previous date in two incidents in Rajkot. On August 15, Ranchodbhai Arjanbhai Desai, living in Panchnath Society of Rajkot, was going from Greenland Chokri to his friend's house in Surat. Meanwhile, the person sitting next to him in the bus fed him food along with biscuits, jewelery and cash. 1.65 lakhs were stolen.
In the second complaint dated December 9, Vijaybhai Kishorebhai, a Farsan merchant from Rajkot who had come to Rajkot from Surat, was made unconscious by a passenger sitting next to him and robbed of money. 1.70 lakhs were stolen.
A similar incident came to light in Upleta police station. In which Surat businessman Harsukhbhai Meghjibhai Savaliya left Surat. on 6th September

Meanwhile, the person sitting next to him became unconscious after eating ghee for breakfast and took away the cash along with the money. 1.79 lakhs were stolen. In such incidents, two complaints have come to light in Surat and one in Bhuj. During interrogation, he confessed to 9 more thefts.

Mahendra Singh used to find the victim at the bus stand, where earlier he used to steal private travels and dissolve sleeping pills and mix them in biscuits. This sleepy biscuit was fed to the passengers. After eating this biscuit, the passenger did not regain consciousness for two days and such a situation arose that he had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
Mahendra Singh used to steal gold jewelery and cash from the unconscious passenger. Modus Operandi learned this technique in 1997 from his friend Nayan Praveen Chand Kanaiya. He has already been caught by Vadodara Railway Police.
