Donation of bones was done to protect religion
Asopa said that there have been many great sages, munis, ascetics, renunciants and donors in Sanatan Dharma. Whenever sacrifice and donation are talked about, the name of Maharishi Dadhichi comes at the top. When the gods needed the bones of Maharishi Dadhichi to make weapons to defeat the demonic powers, the Maharishi without hesitation donated his bones and body to the gods while he was alive. He said that consumption of alcohol and meat strengthens the demonic powers, so it is the responsibility of every human being to honor the sacrifice of Maharishi by banning the sale of alcohol and meat on the occasion of Maharishi Dadhichi's birth anniversary.
