According to media reports, based on the AICPI IW index data from January to June 2024, it has been decided that employees will get DA with an increase of 3 percent from July 2024, which is after the increase of 1.5 points in the June AICPI index. According to the information revealed, the government can increase the dearness allowance (DA) by 3 percent, after which it will become 53 percent. It has been included in the agenda, which will be announced in the cabinet meeting to be held on September 25. In such a situation, the salary of an employee getting a monthly salary of Rs 50 thousand will increase by 1500.

How much DA increased in January

Earlier in January this year, the central government had increased the dearness allowance of central employees by 4 per cent. After which the DA allowance increased to 50 per cent, which gave great relief to the government employees. Let us tell you that any DA / DR increase is usually effective from January 1 and July 1. However, it is often announced later. In such a situation, central government employees and pensioners will be eligible for the arrears of the previous months. It is known that the DA hike applicable in the year 2023 was announced by the government on October 18.
