Rescue operations continued for a second day to save millions of people after Tropical Cyclone Trami hit the northeastern province. People trapped in the roofs of houses are being rescued with the help of motorboats. Apart from this, winds are blowing at a speed of 95 kilometers per hour in the mountainous province of Aguanaldo, Ifugao. This area has been badly affected by floods and landslides. Most of the people died due to drowning in flood water.
Difficulty in rescue operations
1500 policemen have been sent to the affected areas for relief and rescue operations. A government official said, “We cannot save everyone at once because the number of people is very high.” We need an extra motor boat. We are thinking of ways to deliver food and essential items of life to those affected who cannot be evacuated immediately. The officer further said that the weather is bad, due to which the rescue work is becoming difficult.
