Cyclone Dana will move at a speed of 120 km per hour

Dana Cyclone: Cyclone 'Dana' is likely to hit coastal Odisha and West Bengal on Tuesday morning, October 22 or in the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, winds will blow at a speed of 100 to 120 km per hour in the coastal areas. In view of this, IMD has issued red and orange alerts in many districts. Fishermen have also been advised not to plow the sea.

Silicon Valley Bengaluru is in bad condition

India's Silicon Valley Bengaluru received heavy rain on Monday. Due to which 20 flights were grounded and many flights were diverted. Also, due to heavy rains in the city, schools and colleges had to be closed for the second time in a week. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in parts of South Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

Cyclone may hit Odisha on October 24

The Meteorological Department said that the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal will turn into a deep pressure this morning. Due to which there is a possibility of a dangerous storm between October 22 and October 24. Also, today's weather in the Bay of Bengal can be very severe. There is a possibility of heavy rain from the Bay of Bengal to the Tamil Nadu coast. This situation may persist till October 25. Alert has been declared in Bengal including 11 districts of Odisha.

Storm advisory issued

In view of Cyclone Dana, the Odisha government has ordered closure of schools in 14 affected districts across the state from October 23 to 25. Also, devotees in Puri, Odisha have been asked to leave the city. The IMD has advised fishermen to return to the coast by Monday evening and not to venture into the sea till October 26.

Chief Minister held review meeting

Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari held a review meeting chaired by Odisha CM Mohan Charan Maji on Monday. The Meteorological Department had then predicted that cyclone 'Dana' could make landfall on October 24.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has kept 14 teams in West Bengal and 11 teams in Odisha on standby for deployment.
