In the current era of technology, every task is completed in the blink of an eye, whether it is recharging your mobile or transferring money to someone. However, with the rapid growth in these facilities, despite efforts by governments to set up cyber cells, cases of cyber fraud are also increasing. To deal with this problem, the Telecom Ministry has come up with a weapon that can help protect people from scam calls and fraud.
The government has launched two portals for this purpose, the first is Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) and the second is named Chakshu, which means “eye”. Both the portals were inaugurated by Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Legal agencies, banks, social media companies and UPI apps share their confidential information in DIP. If any number is found involved in any fraudulent activities, it will be blocked on all these platforms.

Visiting the Chakshu portal allows individuals to lodge complaints about suspected fraudulent calls, messages or emails. Users are required to share screenshots and details about the call or message content. The complaint is registered after giving complete information about the complaint. Chakshu portal checks the reported numbers, blocks them permanently and takes necessary action.

Additionally, the government has another portal called CEIR, where people can request to block stolen mobile phones and associated SIM cards. CEIR has successfully blocked millions of mobile phones and SIM cards so far. The government claims that now about two thousand fraud numbers are being blocked every day.
