Lucknow, July 12 (HS). The team of Cyber Crime Cell on Friday returned Rs. 13 lakh 73 thousand 653 to the account of the victim woman. The victim has expressed her gratitude to the Police Commissionerate.
Manvi Mehrotra, who lives in Indira Nagar area, gave a complaint to the cyber crime cell. In this, she told that an unknown cyber criminal called and told that he is a CBI officer. Her name has come up in the money laundering case. The matter is under investigation, if she wants to remove her name from the investigation, then she should understand something. The woman got scared and the criminals took advantage of this and cheated her of Rs 13 lakh 73 thousand. When the victim woman realized that she had been cheated, she lodged her complaint in the cyber cell. The cyber team investigated the matter and got all the money back from the victim's account. After getting the money, the victim reached the cyber police station and thanked the team.
Fraud in the name of investment in currency trading, Rs 16 lakh returned
A fraudster from Jiyamau of Hazratganj police station, Saurabh Patel, claimed to be working in a government hospital in Ajmer and swindled Rs 20 lakh 54 thousand from him in different accounts by luring him to earn profit by investing in currency trading. After a complaint was lodged in the cyber cell, the team became active and got Rs 16 lakh returned to the victim's account.
