Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) has been subjected to a cyber attack in which its official email account and YouTube channel have been hacked. The cyber attack took place at 4 pm US time on Friday. According to media reports, the target of the breach was an email ID used by the information branch of the Permanent Mission.
The report quoted sources as saying that the mission's YouTube channel was also breached and its name, banner and content were changed by the attackers. Pakistan's UN mission has requested that posts on their channels be suspended until they regain control of all their emails and the videos created should be ignored. No group or organisation has claimed responsibility for the cyber attack.
