East Champaran, February 19 (HS). In view of the tension arising after one side opposed the protest march taken out in Birgunj in protest against the clash and violence between two communities in Rautahat district of Nepal, Birgunj district administration. Has imposed curfew.
It is reported that when the protest march reached Chapkaiya in Birgunj, other parties also started opposing it. Within no time a clash started between the two parties. In view of the clash, Parsa district administration has imposed curfew in Birgunj and hundreds of police forces are marching on the streets. However, according to the district administration, the situation is becoming normal. After the curfew, the movement of vehicles was stopped by barricading near Shankaracharya Gate of Nepal Administration. Whereas people going on foot are being allowed to go only after showing their citizenship of Nepal and India.
Parsa District CDO Dinesh Sagar Bhusal said that complete curfew has been implemented in Birgunj Municipal Corporation area. Curfew will continue until the situation becomes normal.
