Dhamtari, 25 September (HS). A grand event of 'Gayata Joharni Parb' was organized in village Bhursi Dongri, Tehsil Belargaon, District Dhamtari under the aegis of Gondwana Samaj Coordination Committee, Barbandha subdivision area. This festival is not only a symbol of social unity and cultural heritage, but is also an important occasion to honor the protectors of Gondi traditions and village system. People from every village of the region flocked to this historic event, which further increased the grandeur and dignity of the festival.
The main attraction of Gayta Joharni Parb was the honourable ceremony of Bhumyarr Buba, Mathiyarin Yaya, and their servant Gayta who run the village system. All these guests were welcomed with the traditional Rela Pata by Laya-Layor of Gotul. This cultural ritual kept the traditions alive by keeping them connected to the roots of the Gondi society. Sihawa MLA Ambika Markam appreciated the event. Prominent Sians of the villages of Barbandha subdivision area and prominent special guests of the society were present in the program. All the guests were welcomed with yellow rice and Mahua flowers as per the Gondwana tradition, which is a symbol of respect and dedication. This event once again revived the rich cultural heritage of the Gondwana society. Every person involved in Gayta Joharni Parb felt proud of the traditions of the society and their role in the village system. The ceremony concluded with Johar, where everyone pledged to maintain the unity of the society and cultural heritage. In his inspirational speech, the keynote speaker Sandeep Salam (KBKS India) highlighted the importance of Gondi society's constitutional rights, customs, Gondi language and culture. He explained how the unity of the society and respect for traditions empowers the society. Salam expressed his gratitude to all the village heads and social workers who made this important event of the society a success.
