Haridwar, August 14 (HS). On the eve of Independence Day today, a cultural program was organized in SMJN College under the joint aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell and UCO Bank, Govindpuri, Haridwar. Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri and members of the college management committee were present as the chief guests in the program. UCO Bank, Govindpuri, Haridwar manager Dinesh Kumar was the special guest. Students and all employees participated enthusiastically in this program.
On this occasion, Mahant Ravindra Puri Maharaj said that today the whole country is remembering those great fighters of the freedom struggle, due to whom we are able to celebrate this festival of independence with great joy today. He said that it is the bravery of those great fighters that forced Britain, the most powerful country in the world at that time, to leave the holy land of India. He called upon the youth to adopt the lives of great fighters as their ideal.
On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Prof. Sunil Kumar Batra said that today is the occasion to remember those brave sons of the country who gave their supreme sacrifice and gave the coming generations the opportunity to breathe in the open air of freedom. He also remembered the prominent heroes of the Indian freedom movement.
In the cultural program, Saraswati Vandana was presented by Charu, cultural dance was presented by Palak, Hansika, Mansi, Kamakhya, Alisha, Diksha Yadav, Monika, poetry presentation by Aparajita, yoga presentation by Mansi, Anjali Bhatt, patriotic song by Charu and dance drama was presented by Riya, Manisha, Palak, Omisha.
