More than 80 percent of the country's cumin is grown in Gujarat and Rajasthan. 28 percent of the country's total cumin production is produced in Rajasthan. The average yield of cumin is 7-8 quintals per hectare. The cost of cumin cultivation is about Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 per hectare. If the price of cumin is assumed to be Rs 100 per kilogram, then a net profit of Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 can be earned per hectare. In such a situation, if cumin is grown in 5 acres of land, then an income of Rs 2 to 2.25 lakh can be earned.
