Jammu, May 28 (HS). The Department of Electronics and Communication, DOECE of Central University Jammu, CUJ on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Airports Authority of India under the aegis of Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. The formal signing ceremony was held in the presence of Vice Chancellor Central University Jammu Professor Sanjeev Jain and Airport Director Jammu Sanjeev Kumar Garg. The MoU aims to enhance mutually beneficial partnership between the university and the airport with focus on student internships and skill development programs. This alliance will provide students practical experience of airport operations, advanced communication systems and cutting edge technology used in the aviation sector.
Professor Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu expressed his excitement about the collaboration. He said that this MoU is a landmark moment for Central University of Jammu. It will open new avenues for our students with invaluable first-hand experience of the complexities of airport operations and diverse aspects of civil aviation. As a part of this initiative, students will have the opportunity to participate in live demonstrations of airport projects and activities as well as attend familiarization visits and workshops of two to five days. They will also be eligible for internships lasting four to twenty weeks at airports and regional corporate offices.
Jammu Airport Director Sanjeev Kumar Garg highlighted the importance of such collaborations in bridging the gap between academia and industry. He said, “We are happy to partner with the Central University of Jammu. This initiative will not only benefit the students but will also contribute to innovation and growth of airport operations.”
