Principle: Goyal on the lines of ‘The more caste, the more share’ ‘The more tax, the more share’ The slogan has been raised.
logic: The community or class which contributes more to the country’s GDP and tax collection should get proportionate representation and priority in government policies, schemes and services.
Making tax data public possible: CTI leaders
Organization officials Deepak Garg, Rahul Adlakha and Gurmeet Arora say that this task is not difficult for the government:
available data: The government already has detailed data of income tax and GST.
Social Mapping: If this data is mapped on the basis of social classes, it will become clear how much revenue is coming from which community.
Power of Traders: There are approximately 6 crore businessmen active in the country and 20 lakh in Delhi alone, who are demanding a fair share in the economic policies.
Concern of traders: Respect in policies
CTI believes that often taxpayers are seen only as ‘milk cows’, while they do not get priority when it comes to facilities and schemes. The organization demands that:
Higher tax paying classes should get special benefits in government infrastructure and services.
Economic contribution should also be made an integral part of ‘social justice’ and future policy making.
What will be the effect?
After Amit Shah’s announcement in the Parliament, there is a heated discussion regarding the census process in the country. In such a situation, this demand of traders can turn this issue from ‘social’ to ‘economic’ direction. However, at present there has been no official response from the government on this demand.
