Saharsa, 5 August (HS). Despite heavy rain on the third Monday of the month of Sawan, a large number of devotees gathered at the famous historical Mateshwar Dham Kanto Balwahat in the district to worship Baba and perform Jalabhishek. Lakhs of ordinary devotees including postal workers, Kanwar workers, motorcycle workers and four-wheelers performed Jalabhishek of Baba on Monday.
There was a rally of devotees from Sunday night and Monday morning till evening. Despite the torrential rain for two hours, the faith of the devotees was not affected. Men, women, elderly and children kept praying in queues while getting drenched. In this sequence, seeing the crowd, the women police force also got drenched but they were seen performing their duty.
Due to the unexpected crowd, the Balwahat market and the main gate of the temple remained jammed for hours, due to which the devotees had to face trouble. In the rain, the entire temple premises resounded with the chants of Har Har Mahadev and Baba Mateshwer. On Monday, seeing the unexpected crowd of devotees dressed in red and yellow colorful clothes, the temple trust committee opened the doors of the temple at 2 o'clock in the night. On Monday, the crowd remained standing in queues throughout the day in the 3 kilometer long barricade.
