Ingredients:

Material amount
Fresh spinach leaves (washed) 1 cup
Boiled Green Peas 1/2 cup
boiled potatoes 2 medium sized
Paneer (grated) 1/4 cup
ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
Green chillies (finely chopped, optional) 1/2 teaspoon (or as per taste)
Coriander leaves (chopped) 2 tbsp
Bread Crumbs (or Corn Flour) 2 to 3 tablespoons (for binding)
Oil To fry (very little)
Salt as per taste
Garam Masala/Chaat Masala 1/2 teaspoon

Recipe:

  1. Preparation: Mash the boiled potatoes. Now in a big bowl, mix mashed potatoes, coarsely ground spinach-peas, grated cheese and finely chopped green chillies and coriander leaves.
  2. Spices and Bindings: Add ginger-garlic paste, salt, garam masala (or chaat masala) and bread crumbs (or corn flour) and mix well. Keep in mind that the mixture should not be too wet.
  3. Shape the kebabs: Now take a little mixture in your hand and shape it into a round tikki or kebab.
  4. Cook (Shallow Fry): Take a non-stick pan and add some oil (just 1-2 teaspoons) and heat it. When the oil is hot, slowly place the kebabs in the pan.
  5. Bake: Cook the kebab on low flame until it becomes golden brown and crispy on both sides. This process will take about 5-7 minutes.
  6. For Tiffin: When the kebabs are cooked, take them out on kitchen paper to remove excess oil. Pack it in tiffin only when it cools down slightly.

Serving Method:

Serve these healthy Hara Bhara Kebabs with green chutney or tomato ketchup in children’s tiffin. Apart from being nutritious, it is also so tasty that the tiffin box will come back completely empty.
