Moradabad, 17 August (HS). The police team of Kundarki police station in the district arrested a criminal wanted in a cow slaughter case after an encounter on Saturday morning. He was injured after being shot in the leg, while a constable was also shot in the hand. Both were admitted to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, teams are searching for his other absconding accomplice.
Superintendent of Police (Rural), Sandeep Meena, said that the police team of Kundarki police station was conducting a checking campaign in the area. During this time, two youths were seen coming from the front on a bike without a number plate. When the police signaled them to stop, the bike riders fell down. Finding themselves surrounded, they started firing at the police team, in which constable Ujjwal got injured. In self-defense, the police personnel opened fire, in which a criminal got injured and fell down. The police caught him, while his partner fled from the spot with the bike.
SP Rural said that when the injured miscreant was arrested and questioned, he revealed his name as Nazim, resident of Fatehpur village of Mainather police station area. He was absconding in a case of cow slaughter. He has been involved in various incidents of cow slaughter and many heinous crimes. The police admitted the injured to CHC Kundarki for treatment.
