Credit Card rules: Big update for customers, HDFC credit card rules will change from October 1, know what changed? | News India

New Delhi: HDFC Bank, the country's largest lender, has announced changes in the loyalty programs of some of its credit cards. After which now the rewards available on HDFC Bank's Infinia and Infinia Metal cards have been limited. The bank has informed the customers associated with these cards through mail that the redemption of reward points for Apple products on the SmartBuy platform has been limited to a single product per calendar quarter. Additionally, the SmartBuy portal has limited the redemption of reward points for Tanishq vouchers to 50,000 reward points per calendar quarter. These changes will come into effect from the first of the next month i.e. 1 October 2024.

These changes were made last month

Earlier in the month of September also, HDFC Bank had changed many rules related to credit cards. In which the limit of reward points on utility transactions and telecom and cable transactions was increased to Rs 2000 every month.

Additionally, reward points will not be awarded on education payments made through CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik and third party apps. However, reward points will be awarded on education payments made directly through the college/school website or their POS machines.

Capping will be applicable for Millennia, UPI, BIZ UPI, Swiggy, BIZ First, Paytm, Paytm Business, Easy EMI Millennia, Best Price Save Smart and Bharat Credit Cards as per product feature.

No reward points will be given on Easy EMI transactions. Please note that the bank gives 3 reward points for every Rs 150 spent through credit cards.

How much are the fees on the Infinia Credit Card?

According to the information given on the official website of HDFC Bank, “Joining/Renewal Membership Fee – Rs 12,500 + Taxes. Welcome and renewal benefit of 12,500 reward points* on fee collection and card activation. Additionally, if you spend Rs 10 lakh or more in a year, renewal membership will be waived.”
