Crackdown on drug smugglers, poppy husk recovered from truck, two arrested

Fatehabad, July 9 (HS). While arresting drug smugglers, Fatehabad police recovered poppy husk from a truck during a blockade and arrested two youths. The CIA staff Fatehabad police team led by ASI Praveen Kumar was present in village Baropal during patrolling to stop drug smuggling.

During this time, the police received information that Vikas Kumar, a resident of Dhangar, who works as a truck driver, brings garbage poppy in his truck and sells it in the village Dhangar. He is bringing poppy on Tuesday as well. On this information, the police team blocked the GT road and started checking vehicles. When the police signaled a truck coming from Hisar to stop on the basis of suspicion, the truck driver got scared and started turning the truck back.

The police staff showed promptness and caught both the youths travelling in the truck. On interrogation, they told their names as Vikas and Rakesh resident of Dhangar. When the police searched the truck, 11 kg 250 grams of poppy husk was recovered from the bag kept in the cabin. On this, the police arrested both the youths and registered a case against them under the NDPS Act in Sadar Police Station, Fatehabad.
