Politics of West Bengal: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced candidates for all 42 seats in the state for the Lok Sabha elections. With this announcement of Trinamool, Congress and Trinamool Congress have parted ways in Bengal. All possibilities of 'India' alliance entering Bengal have been completely destroyed. Congress now hopes for an alliance with the Left parties in Bengal. Congress's reaction to the announcement of candidates by TMC has also come to light.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, 'Our doors are always open and the alliance can be withdrawn any time.' Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, 'Congress has always said that they want a respectable seat-sharing formula with Trinamool in West Bengal. Which means communicating with each other. Giving and receiving from one side (taking with one hand and giving with the other) and some clarifications. We have always said that our doors are always open for talks and seat sharing, but seats should not be announced unilaterally.
Don't know what was the pressure on Trinamool: Jairam Ramesh
He said, 'We wanted to announce seats together like we did in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Now TMC has divided the seats. However, we do not know what was the pressure on Trinamool, but as far as we are concerned, we want to strengthen the all India alliance in West Bengal. Now let's see what happens.
Trinamool was also a part of the Bharat Alliance of opposition parties, but now it has announced its candidates and made it clear that its path in Bengal is different from that of the Congress. Differences are visible between Trinamool and Congress ever since Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued a warning from the public platform.
What did Mamata Banerjee say?
Mamta Banerjee said, 'I do not understand what the Congress party is proud of. I do not think that Congress will be able to win even 40 seats by contesting elections on more than 300 seats. If Congress has courage then go to Varanasi and show it by defeating BJP.
Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and Yusuf Pathan face to face!
Trinamool has given ticket to cricketer Yusuf Pathan from Baharampur seat. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary is the MP from this seat. This is his traditional seat. He has been an MP from there since 1999. It is believed that after Yusuf Pathan stepped down from this seat, the election has become interesting.
Mamata would have asked for a seat from Gujarat for Yusuf Pathan…: Adhir Ranjan
Now Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has also reacted. He said, 'If Yusuf Pathan was to be honored, Trinamool could have made him a member of the Rajya Sabha and given him the post of MP. Or Yusuf might have asked for a seat for Pathan from the alliance in Gujarat. But they want to divide the common people. They want BJP to win and Congress party to lose. Mamata Banerjee's fate itself is under question. Till a few days ago, Mamata Banerjee was known as the spokesperson of 'Bharat' alliance. But now today she herself has proved that no political party in India should trust the destiny of Mamata Banerjee. One whose testimony has no meaning, whose thinking is cowardly and cunning, should not be trusted.
Apart from this, Adhir Ranjan said, 'They fear that if we join the Bharat alliance, the central government will send ED-CBI. It is possible that Trinamool is in danger and has distanced itself from the alliance to avoid angering Modi. We have also sent a message to the Central Government not to be angry with us. I am not in the alliance. This means that I am not standing to fight BJP.
