New Delhi, 15 November (HS). The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) will investigate the expenditure on decoration of the official residence of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Taking cognizance of the complaint by Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on Friday ordered an investigation into the alleged crores of rupees spent on the decoration of Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence 6, Flag Staff Road. CPWD Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO).
In this context, the Leader of Opposition had filed a complaint with the CVC on October 21. In this he had said that Kejriwal had spent a lot on the interior decoration and facilities at the Chief Minister’s residence. This smacks of high level corruption and needs immediate investigation.
Gupta said that Kejriwal has spent crores of rupees on TV worth Rs 77 lakh, silk carpet worth Rs 50 lakh, brass railing worth Rs 42 lakh, spa center worth Rs 20 lakh, hot water generator worth Rs 18 lakh, toilet seats worth Rs 12 lakh each in his house. Spent recklessly. He said that Kejriwal’s house has 50 split ACs, 250 ton centralized AC system, 934 liter capacity refrigerator operated by artificial intelligence, 75 speakers of Bosch company, 5 reclining sofas, three dining tables, 8 king size beds, 75 Comfortable chairs, 76 tables, 24 sofa sets, one dining room, two drawing rooms, three meeting rooms, 12 Seven star hotels also fill the water next to this ‘common man’s’ house with facilities of toilet, two kitchens and 8 bedrooms.
He said that Kejriwal spent Rs 15 crore of the public’s hard-earned money on just the bathroom of his Sheesh Mahal, got curtains worth Rs 5.30 crore installed, and spent Rs 70 lakh on automatic windows.
After the investigation has been ordered on the complaint letter, Vijendra Gupta says that the report that will come after the completion of the investigation will expose Kejriwal who cheated the people of Delhi for the last 10 years by wearing the mask of a common man. He said that the pot of sins of Aam Aadmi Party is now full and the people of Delhi will oust them from power by confiscating the deposits of their candidates in the next assembly elections.
