Ranchi, 22 July (HS). The two-day state committee meeting of CPI(M) will be held in Bundu (Ranchi). Party's polit bureau members Brinda Karat and Dr. Ramchandra Dom will also be present in the meeting. In the meeting, preparations for the upcoming assembly elections and the state-wide mass movement to be held from 21 to 28 August will be reviewed.
CPI(M) state secretary Prakash Viplav said on Monday that the CPI(M) has welcomed the announcement of the formation of a displacement commission in Jharkhand by Chief Minister Hemant Soren and has appealed to him to introduce a bill for the formation of the displacement commission in this session of the Assembly so that concrete steps can be taken towards protecting the rights of the peasants here.
Viplav said that due to old displacement in Jharkhand, the matter of rehabilitation, compensation and employment of thousands of peasants is pending. In the past, many coal blocks have been allotted to various companies for mining through auction. Now, after pressure from the central government, the mining department of the state government has started the auction process of 11 other mineral blocks. This will lead to the problem of new displacement. Because, the private outsourcing companies will start mining work without solving the problems of the peasants by ignoring all the rules and regulations and the problems of the peasants will increase. Therefore, the formation of a displacement commission will help in protecting their rights.
