CPI(M), Congress, BJP are job hunters, public will teach a lesson: Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata, May 14 (HS). West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday simultaneously attacked BJP, CPI(M) and Congress. He alleged that the recent cancellation of appointments of 25 thousand 753 teaching and non-teaching staff by the Calcutta High Court is the result of a joint conspiracy hatched by CPI(M), Congress and BJP.

Whenever we try to arrange jobs, they approach the court and stop the appointment process, the Chief Minister said while addressing an election rally in Kalyani under Bangaon Lok Sabha constituency in support of party candidate Vishwajit Das. We have heard about man-eating tigers, but these guys are job eaters. He also said that the lawyers of Congress, CPI(M) and BJP are disappointed after the Supreme Court stayed the order of Calcutta High Court.

It is noteworthy that last month the Calcutta High Court had canceled 25 thousand 753 appointments made by the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) in 2016 on teaching and non-teaching posts. The case is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Later, the Supreme Court stayed the order by the Calcutta High Court canceling the appointments.

On Tuesday, at an election rally in the state, the Chief Minister also launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent announcement of five guarantees for West Bengal. Banerjee said that whenever someone gives a guarantee, one should respect it. Ten years ago, PM Modi had guaranteed to transfer Rs 15 lakh to the account of every citizen, but the money never came. Five years ago he had promised two crore jobs every year, but instead of creating jobs, public sector units are being privatized. Therefore, such guarantees mean nothing.

The Chief Minister also alleged that due to fear of defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and the Central Government are trying to manipulate the voting process by tampering with EVMs.

The Chief Minister said an attempt was made in Krishnanagar on Monday, which was foiled after protests by Trinamool. He also predicted that this time BJP will win 195-200 seats. Mamta claimed, anti-BJP forces together will get 295-315 seats.
